Bromus secalinus
- Product number: 672220
- Origin: Europe
- Latin: Bromus secalinus
This beautiful grass species is on the list of endangered plants! Cheat Grass used to be very common in grain fields, but due to smarter seed cleaning, it has disappeared from them. There was even a bread baked with this grass (then as grain), due to the low yield this is not profitable, but still a fun experiment!
Due to its beautiful stems, garden enthusiasts also value this grass as an annual ornamental plant. Height 40-100 cm, it blooms in summer with hanging panicles up to 20 cm long.
