The base of the plant consists of a clump of thin but sturdy, lance-shaped leaves, much like a cluster of shiny, dark green foliage. This base is very frost-hardy and evergreen, provided the plants are in good sunlight and not too wet. In summer, white, wine-red, dark and light pink spherical flower clusters appear on medium-length stems (40-50 cm high). This perennial plant provides strong cut flowers.
I was rightly pointed out that Armeria is not actually a grass. Let's say: this genus is perceived as a grass… Hence its classification in this chapter.
