A deciduous conifer, which in full foliage somewhat resembles the yew. In autumn, the tree turns a beautiful yellow and red! Until 1944, it was thought that this tree was extinct; three years earlier, the genus had been identified as a fossil... However, the tree was found to still exist in Southern China. Its initial growth is strong: in a few years, the tree reaches 20m in height and can eventually grow over 40 meters. A vigorous tree is always very strong and therefore also suitable as a BONSAI. However, it is best to grow it to a larger size, for example up to 1m high.
