The true tulip tree is not small... In open ground, it can reach a height of 20 m. If you have less space, plant the tree in a large pot or grow a bonsai with it!
This species originates from North America and is (besides ornamental) also an important timber supplier ("American Poplar", thus softwood). The flower is, of course, the highlight of this tree: tulip-shaped, light yellow with a striking orange base, insects love it. The flaming orange-yellow autumn colour of the leaves makes the tulip tree a jewel in the landscape. Before that, the foliage is simply green, but with a funny, four-pointed shape. The tree is very frost-resistant.
