This special, hardy shrub from China deserves much more attention!
As the name suggests, it blooms in winter, sometimes as early as December. Its delightful sweet scent is striking!
The English imported the shrub from China in 1766, and beautiful specimens can be found in English gardens. The warm-yellow flowers appear about 6 years after sowing. Give them a sunny, warm spot; prune only if absolutely necessary.
