Strelitzia juncea

  • Product number: 647350
  • Origin: South Africa
  • Latin: Strelitzia juncea

Like the "common" S. reginae, this plant, when well cared for, produces exotic, bright orange and blue flowers in the shape of a crane's head. The very special feature of this species is its narrow, reed-like leaves. The plant is exceptionally resistant to both wet and dry conditions: a rarity! Height 70-125cm.

Names:
Latin: Strelitzia juncea

English: Rush-Leaved Strelitzia, Narrow-Leaved Bird of Paradise

First, remove the plume, soak the seeds in warm water for 24 hours, and then sow them. 50% of the seeds germinate between 30-60 days, and then another 30% can germinate later over the course of a whole year.
