A well-known ornamental tree in the African tropics and a tub or houseplant here. From about 5 years of age, the plant can start flowering, which is quite an experience! Beautiful tufts of orange-red, cup-shaped flowers open in clusters at the same time. In the tropics, it's a children's toy: the flowers hold water, so you can splash each other with them! Deep red and yellow colours also sometimes occur.

Sowing method: All year round in a seed tray with coco peat (75%) and silver sand (25%), see our website. Scatter the seeds on the growing medium and press them down gently. Regularly mist with lukewarm water and allow to germinate in a warm place (not in direct sunlight) (25-30 C̊).
