This elegant Mexican relative of the BUXUS can tolerate frost down to -8°C and, due to its enormous drought tolerance, can be found deep in the desert. Its deep blue-grey foliage makes for a beautiful and easy potted plant, and its small yellow flowers can develop into edible, nutty fruits. A valuable oil is extracted from the seeds.
