Fascinating, mysterious plant, thanks to its ingenious adaptation to the marsh environment. The leaves are large and round, with the petiole in the center. The wonderfully beautiful CREAMY YELLOW flowers at first glance resemble our water lily, but in the middle stands the typical, flattened receptacle where the seeds develop in cavities.
As an added bonus, all parts of the plant are edible: flower, (unripe) seeds, leaves, and thick root!
Easy to grow from seed; see the detailed sowing instructions.
