The most well-known feature of this pinnate palm is its edible, sweet fruit: dates. The palm has been cultivated for centuries and grows in subtropical regions, for example around the Mediterranean Sea. In nature, the tree is very drought-resistant due to its very deep roots, and can therefore also be found in oases. Please note: as a potted plant, the roots are naturally confined to the pot and it has normal water requirements. The plant is not frost-hardy in our climate, but it loves to be outdoors in the summer!
