An interesting tropical plant for indoors and outdoors in summer. It is one of the few plants (besides Mimosa Pudica, Venus Flytrap, and Bladderwort) that make movements visible to the human eye! The leaves orient themselves towards the light and also react to sound waves like music, though the temperature must be at least 20°C.
In addition to its elongated leaves, the plant also blooms with small purple flowers.
Charles Darwin extensively describes this plant in his book The Power of Movement in Plants (1880)
