This Aloe originates from South Africa and is grown by our grower in Portugal. The Dune Aloe is a large, fast-growing, unbranched aloe that develops a very large rosette. The long, grey-green leaves are deeply grooved or channeled (U-shaped in cross-section) and bend downwards. In old age, orange and yellow flowers appear in short, compact, cylindrical clusters on multi-branched inflorescences: wonderfully beautiful! Place the plants in well-drained soil, in pots, never water wet-on-wet, so wait until the soil is a little drier again. A few drops of natural vinegar in the water neutralizes the lime content of our tap water. Put the plants outside in the summer, protecting them from excessive rain. In winter, preferably in a light, not too warm place indoors.
