Salvia candelabrum

  • Product number: 602335
  • Origin: Southern Europe
  • Latin: Salvia candelabrum

A rare sage from Spain and hard to come by. The deep purple flowers (with a small white spot) are magnificent and loosely arranged in whorls like a candelabra. Height 100-120 cm. The woolly, grey-green leaves resemble culinary sage and also smell wonderful. Do you have a sunny spot that isn't too wet? Easy to grow, so it's strange that it's so difficult to find.

Sowing method: April-July. Seeds germinate quickly; keep uniformly moist (not wet) at ± 20°C. Cover seeds thinly; fine seeds should not be covered but lightly pressed. Place a box or dark cloth over them, as they are not light germinators. Immediately after emergence, place in light and cooler conditions.
