Sowing method: March-July. Fill a seed tray with a mixture of coco peat (preferably from blocks) and silver sand. Sieve the top layer with a kitchen sieve until it is very fine. Take an A4 sheet of paper and fold it once lengthwise. Then unfold it and smooth it out a little. Empty the seed packet onto the middle of the paper, tearing the packet slightly if necessary. Distribute the seeds over the surface of the soil by folding the paper slightly and holding it at an angle, gently tapping it. If this is still too fiddly: mix the fine seeds with a scoop of unscented talcum powder (shake in a small jar) and sprinkle this over the surface of the soil. Press down the seeds and mist them with a fine spray of lukewarm water. Optionally, cover with a transparent anti-evaporation dome or spray 2-3 times a day. Do not place in direct sunlight but at a minimum of 20°C. As soon as the seedlings germinate, remove the cover and place them in a very light but shady spot. Transplant seedlings in groups into pots for the first growth spurt. Plant out before winter (early September at the latest).
