This Jacob's Ladder (its leaves are arranged opposite each other like rungs on a ladder) surprises from winter to summer with deep purple stems and purple-green foliage. In late summer and autumn, new leaves emerge fresh green, only for the purple cycle to restart in winter. It blooms at 50 cm with light blue, quite large flowers in June-July. After flowering, prune it back to keep the plant fresh.
