Penstemon palmeri

Product number: 599825
Origin: United States
Latin: Penstemon palmeri

This turtlehead flower is increasingly found in the wild in the US, as it is also sown by humans along highways: a beautiful plant that blooms at 1-2m height with light pink, snapdragon-like flowers! It is one of the few Penstemon species that is wonderfully fragrant. Give the plants a sunny spot in well-draining soil; they are drought-tolerant. Bees and bumblebees will certainly enjoy them with you. We also fill larger packets, so you can create a few beautiful tree surrounds in your area!

Sowing method: Year-round in a seed tray, first give 2-4 weeks of warmth (18-22°C), then a cold period in, for example, the refrigerator (+4°C) for 4-6 weeks, then slowly warm up to room temperature, after which germination will follow. The seeds germinate irregularly over a longer germination period. Therefore, do not discard the seedlings too quickly. Sowing directly into the ground is also possible; in that case, simply allow them to overwinter, and germination will occur in spring.
