*Lunaria annua* 'Purpureoviolacea'
- Product number: 596200
- Origin: Europe
- Latin: Lunaria annua, or also L. biennis
Early in spring, this easy grower blooms with (purple)violet flowers, followed by the characteristic round, flat, (then still) green seed pods. After drying and peeling, they look just like silver coins because the septum gleams like silver and mother-of-pearl. These 75 cm tall plants also grow very well in partial shade. Honesty is usually grown as a biennial, can also have an annual cycle (with early sowing), the plant self-seeds easily and naturalizes.
