EDIBLE BERRIES! A beautiful subshrub, so named because the plants freeze back to the ground in a harsh winter. Annually, the plant grows to 1.5-2 m in a sunny to semi-shaded spot. The white flowers appear between beautiful hanging, purple-red bracts. Immediately after flowering, purple-red to almost black berries emerge, adorning the plant well into autumn! Birds love them, and when harvested very ripe, we can also eat the berries. Give the plant well-draining soil.
