Elecampane

  • Product number: 592410
  • Origin: Europe, Asia
  • Latin: Elecampane

"Torn Sunflower" you could call this plant because, like the Doronicum, its flower heads contain very thin, yellow ray florets (petals). These are substantial plants (up to 1½m tall), blooming from June to October. The rhizome is used as a tea as an expectorant for persistent coughs and asthma. It is also strongly anti-infective and stomach-soothing.

Names:
Latin: Inula helenium
Dutch: Griekse Alant
Also known as: Gescheurde Zonnebloem
English: Elecampane or Elecampane
