Delphinium staphisagria

Delphinium staphisagria

Product number: 583920
Origin: Mediterranean region
Latin: Delphinium staphisagria

A majestic larkspur! The pointed, large leaf is sturdy and elegant. At a height of 120 cm, the plant blooms with full flower stems. The color is medium blue. Try this biennial species; we suspect that if the faded stem is cut out in time, it will have a favorable overwintering. The seeds are used medicinally and are poisonous. An infusion of the seeds was formerly used against head lice. Please note: do not experiment yourself!!

Sowing method: Sow year-round in a seed tray. First, provide warmth (18-22°C) for 2-4 weeks, then give it a cold period, for example in the refrigerator (+4°C) for 4-6 weeks, then gradually warm it up to room temperature, after which germination will follow. The seeds germinate irregularly over a longer period. Do not discard the sowing too soon. Sowing directly into the ground is also possible; in that case, simply let it overwinter, and germination will occur in the spring.
