Thanks to this Sugar Rush series, we can now offer seeds of unique wallflower colours. This 'Primrose' is single-flowered and lemon-yellow: rarely beautiful! Delightfully sweet-scented and summer-flowering, the plant blooms longest if spent flowers are removed and if the plant receives regular moisture. Compact growth: 20-25 cm.
Wallflowers get their name from their spontaneous germination on crumbling (demolition) walls and/or their frequent planting at the base of a sunny wall. They therefore love sun and, importantly, not too much moisture! In such a place, they will self-seed. Timely pruning of old plants and earthing them up a little often encourages regrowth.
