The initial growth already shows an impressive foliage base of dark green, glossy, prickly thistle leaves. From these, dangerously thorny stems with clusters of white with soft lilac flowers and a dark purple heart rise to 60-70 cm. Flowering starts in June and continues until September! Although this species originally comes from South Africa, the plants are sufficiently winter-hardy in our climate.
