A completely hardy, striking garden plant with an exotic look. First, the fresh green leaves grow on long, thick purple-spotted stems. The beautiful, variegated leaf is divided from the center into 10-20 parts and forms an umbrella around the stem. The leaf parts end in a thread-like tip. For this alone, the plant deserves a spot in your garden! When the slender, cup-shaped flowers then appear (height 60-80 cm), the pleasure is complete: they are green-white with brownish-purple stripes lengthwise. The back part of the spathe (flower sheath) has an overhanging, long outgrowth that creates a roof. The image of an old-fashioned pulpit is complete! The plants grow and bloom where other plants fail, namely in the shade. Give them a spot with plenty of humus.
From seed, some may be green-leaved and the rest variegated.
