A completely hardy, striking garden plant with an exotic appearance. First, the fresh green leaves grow on long, thick purple-spotted stems. The leaf is divided from the center into 10-20 segments and forms like an umbrella around the stem. The leaf segments end in a thread-like tip. For this alone, the plant deserves a place in your garden! When the slender, cup-shaped flowers then appear (height 60-80 cm), the pleasure is complete: they are green-white with brownish-purple stripes lengthwise. The back part of the spathe (flower sheath) has an arching, long outgrowth that forms a roof. The image of an old-fashioned pulpit is complete! These plants grow and flower where other plants fail, namely in the shade. Give them a spot with plenty of humus.
