A highlight from the single-flowered series, this botanical or at least not heavily cultivated variety is named after its discovery location: the Linnaeus Garden in Uppsala (Sweden). The plant grows to 50-100 cm high (depending on soil type, fertilization, and rain) and blooms profusely with deep red flowers. The Swede Linnaeus significantly contributed to the naming and "ordering" of the plant kingdom and also lived in the Netherlands for a long time. Single-flowered marigolds evoke a different atmosphere than double-flowered ones: more original and more in harmony with perennial plants.
Single-flowered marigolds were once not appreciated: too ordinary, "the more double, the better..." In times when wild and original flowers are gaining attention again, this type is very much in demand! The open flowers gracefully show off their vibrant colors and visible flower centers. The flower is approximately 3 cm in diameter.
