Extra large-flowered yet compact (40-50 cm high) in the typical African colours of orange and lemon-yellow.
Giant-flowered African marigolds (5-10 cm in diameter) remind me of my childhood; I loved their scent and enjoyed walking through fields of these big beauties. The large, spherical flowers are a wonderfully old-fashioned adornment for the garden, and the taller varieties are excellent for cutting!
This Tagetes also works against harmful nematodes (eelworms). For more crops, see the chapter "Beneficial Plants" in the group "Disease-Repellent Plants".
