Ricinus communis 'Gibsonii Impala Red'

  • Product number: 550500
  • Origin: East Africa
  • Latin: Castor bean

Dark red young leaves, later dark green with red veins. Eventually, dark red flower spikes and fruits appear. Height 150 cm.

Very fast-growing plant with large, finger-shaped leaves. Could this be the plant that provided shade to the prophet Jonah? Fills a sheltered spot completely! Blooms with thick flower spikes of male and female flowers; the latter develop into round, spiky balls with beautiful seeds. These seeds are poisonous, but who eats them anyway... Overwinter plants indoors.
