Papaver glaucum

  • Product number: 544020
  • Origin: Middle East
  • Latin: Papaver glaucum

An unknown, but oh so lovely poppy! The plant grows 70cm tall and first displays its deeply incised, grey-green leaves. The flower is as red as a wild poppy, but larger and beautifully round in shape. This poppy owes its name to the inner petals, which stand upright like a tube (tulip shape). One of the most free-flowering varieties (50 flowers per plant!) that germinates easily. The decorative poppy fruits are an added bonus.

Poppies are a gem in the garden. They are also fantastic as cut flowers; cut them in bud when the colour is just visible. You will see them fully unfold…
