Names:
Latin: Nicotiana tabacum
Dutch: Milde Tabak
Also known as: Gewone tabak
English: Tobacco

Sowing method: February-April indoors at 20-25°C or outdoors in May (in a warm, shady spot). Always pre-sow in a seed tray. Use cocopeat with silver sand as the sowing medium, sieving the top layer extra fine (kitchen sieve). Spread the seeds over the seedbed, lightly press them down, and mist them until damp: they need light to germinate! Transplant in time into potting soil to prevent growth stagnation. The plants can be moved outdoors in May, as soon as the weather becomes consistently warmer.
