Misopates orontium

  • Product number: 540650
  • Origin: Europe
  • Latin: Misopates orontium, also known as Antirrhinum orontium

Fragile, exuberant, and subtle... This native species is now very rare in the Netherlands, so by growing this plant, you help its population. At 8-30 cm, the wonderfully beautiful, light pink labiate flowers appear. They thrive in moist, but not too poor, soil. The dried fruit looks just like a bat, a skull, or the head of a weasel, hence its English name Weasel’s Snout.

Names:
Latin: Misopates orontium, or also Antirrhinum orontium
Dutch: Akkerleeuwenbek
Also: Antirrhinum orontium
English: Weasel's Snout, Lesser Snapdragon
