In and around Texas, but now also throughout North America, this is the most famous and much-loved wildflower! They like places where medium-height vegetation provides some shade at the base or along forest edges, but they also thrive perfectly in full sun. Since 1901, this annual lupine has been adopted as the "State Flower of Texas". The lilac-blue-white flowers (60 cm high) have a slightly sweet scent and attract many insects! The plants can self-seed if the growing conditions are favorable.
