Varieties from the 'Elegance' series are insensitive to short days, meaning they also bloom in winter (given sufficient temperature). This beautiful reddish-brown (with pinkish-red wings) Sweet Pea can be sown in the greenhouse in August and will bloom in December or January (if the temperature is not too low)! Of course, this variety can also be sown in spring, though the plant will produce slightly fewer side shoots.
The variety mentioned here belongs to the modern Lathyrus odoratus varieties and has long proven to possess all the characteristics that enthusiasts seek: healthy growth, abundant flowering (the more you pick, the more it blooms), long flower stems with many flowers (4-6). Where noted, the variety has an exceptionally good scent; otherwise, it is always sufficiently fragrant and guarantees colorfastness.
