What a special sunflower! At a height of about 2 m, the plants begin to bloom with warm yellow petals split along the edge; the heart consists of an outer rim of tubular florets, which grow slightly into petals along the inner circle (the true heart of the flower). The inner circle contains the beloved pollen that our bee friends are so fond of! After the first bloom, side branches develop with more flowers.
Our grower acquired this rare variety through a French Agricultural Research Station.
