The southwest coast of California is a true "gold rush" of orange and yellow California poppies. Even the Mojave Desert blooms after a rain shower. In our gardens, the California poppy is one of the easiest plants to sow; this generously filled packet can work floral wonders in many bare spots!
An ideal flower for the "lazy" sower! Improve the soil in the garden with a little potting soil and sow directly in place; it always works. The flowers come in single and double forms, in a playful small cup shape. Even the foliage is beautiful: succulent, fresh, and incised.
