Beautiful, exotic-looking plant with large, upward-facing, bright white to light lilac cup-shaped flowers, sometimes with a darker heart. The pollinated flowers develop into large spiny fruits, resembling chestnut husks. After these fruits burst open, you can dry them. The plant requires a lot of nitrogen for optimal growth. When used by experts, it is a potent medicinal herb, but beware! Amateurism is deadly, the plant is poisonous.
It is sometimes difficult to determine the correct genus and species names; we occasionally place a question mark (literally). Not all species can be overwintered. Generally, the upright-flowering species are called "Datura" and are annual, and the species with hanging flowers are usually called "Brugmansia," which can overwinter frost-free.
