When the dahlias were brought from Mexico to Spain by the Swedish botanist A. Dahl in 1789, this species was among them! A native, wild and strong species. The only breeding work that has been done is that a mixture has been bred from the red species in all the cheerful shades we know from a dahlia. The flower shape is open with a visible flower heart. The impressive height of 120-150 cm makes the plant a substantial "filler"! Butterflies, bees and other insects love to visit the flowers, and from the most beautiful plants, you can harvest and save the tubers in the autumn (frost-free).
