Clitoria ternatea 'The Blues'
- Product number: 514372
- Origin: South and Southeast Asia
- Latin: Clitoria ternatea
This beautiful climber unjustly receives little attention. Perhaps its namer is partly to blame... After an enormous growth spurt, an abundance of 5cm single and double flowers appear in the summer. The mixture contains pink, blue, and white hues; the flowers have an elegant saucer shape with a yellow throat and a protrusion at the top of the throat. The pods after flowering are edible, but removing them promotes reblooming. Grown in a large pot, the plant can overwinter in a cool place. Give the plant a sunny to slightly shaded spot and enjoy! In Asia, rice is dyed blue with the dye from the blue Clitoria!
