An unknown, but lovely plant: strong, with firm, shiny leaves and bright flowers. These flowers resemble busy lizzies. The plants bloom all summer; this mixture grows to about 25 cm high. Besides in flower boxes, the plant can also thrive indoors as a houseplant or in the open ground in the garden. In warmer countries, you see these plants more often because they tolerate drought and heat so well. A special detail is that the plant is a source of vinblastine and vincristine, two substances used in medicines against leukemia and Hodgkin's disease. Another substance in the plant is ajmalicine, a blood pressure reducer.
