Songbird forms compact, sturdy, round plants with elegantly serrated leaves. Many layers form a double rosette. Colour: Spicy pink centre and blue-green border
Ornamental cabbage is best enjoyed in late summer to autumn (extending into winter), so don't sow too early. These beautifully coloured cabbages originated in Japan and make a colourful addition to our gardens or pots! Briefly cooked or stir-fried, they provide a colourful addition to dishes. Their mild flavour has long been appreciated in Asian cuisine! The leaves of this type are double-pinnate, creating a very fine leaf structure (like a snowflake!)
