Product number: 503077
Origin: South America
Latin: Love-lies-bleeding

This attractive variety grows to about 1 meter tall and lets its long flower spikes hang down almost to the ground! The leaves are edible like spinach and the seeds can be prepared like a type of couscous.

Sowing method: April-June directly in the garden. First, thoroughly rake the soil until fine, then evenly scatter the seeds (possibly mixed with dry sand) and lightly rake them in. Finally, press down with a plank, hand, or roller. Pre-sowing and transplanting is also an option. The more space you give them, the more side shoots and the taller the main stem will be. For cutting, it pays to sow or plant densely: this results in many handy inflorescences. All varieties turn bronze to brown when ripe (in autumn).
