Amaranthus caudatus 'Coral Fountain'

  • Product number: 503075
  • Origin: South America
  • Latin: Love-lies-bleeding

The plant can grow quite tall in fertile soil, but 50-120 cm are average heights. The beautiful paniculate flower spikes boast an old-pink colour, a lovely soft shade that, for example, combines excitingly with dark red. In addition to being an elegant garden plant, this is also a very strong cut flower. Give them a sunny spot.

Sowing method: April-June outdoors. First, rake the soil thoroughly, then scatter the seeds (possibly mixed with dry sand) evenly and lightly rake them in. Finally, press down with a board, hand, or roller. Pre-sowing and transplanting is also an option. The more space between plants, the more side branches and the higher the main stem will be. For cut flowers, it is worthwhile to sow or plant densely: this results in many manageable inflorescences. All varieties turn bronze to brown when ripe (in autumn).
