Sowing method: April-June directly in the soil. First, rake the soil thoroughly until fine, then scatter the seeds (possibly mixed with dry sand) evenly and rake lightly. Finally, press down with a board, by hand or with a roller. Pre-sowing and transplanting is also an option. The more space you give them, the more side shoots will develop and the taller the main stem will grow. For cut flowers, it is worthwhile to sow or plant densely: this results in many manageable inflorescences. All varieties turn bronze to brown when ripe (in autumn).
