Packaging

The package contains a box with substrate. When opening the box, the substrate should be fully grown through with white mycelium, otherwise close the box with the lid and store it for 10–14 days at 20–25ºC. 1. Start cultivation by watering the substrate with 1/4 liter of water (for a 7 1/2 liter box) up to approx. 1/2 liter (for 15 and 22 liter boxes), so that the surface is moist. 2. After approx. 2 weeks, white buttons will appear. Now place a small stick or skewer in each corner of the box and place the lid on top, creating an opening of approx. 3 cm (or take a transparent plastic bag in which you have cut 4 round holes of 2–3 cm and place it like a hat over the top of the box). Now place the box at 10–15ºC in a room with daylight, but not in direct sunlight! 3. Make sure that the top of the substrate NEVER dries out. Therefore, you must moisten the top with a plant sprayer at least once a day (not soaking wet!). 4. From the white buttons, stems with gray tips will grow, forming the 'oyster mushroom cluster'. Continue to spray daily, otherwise the mushroom will still dry out. HARVESTING: the total harvesting period can be up to three months. A cluster should be twisted out all at once during harvesting; no flesh should remain. Some mushrooms in the cluster will then be slightly overripe (the cap rim will curl upwards) and others too young, but this cannot be avoided. When using, cut the mushroom approx. 1 cm below the gills. The stems, which are a bit tougher, can be used separately for sauces and soups. Now start again at point 3. You can harvest from one box approx. 3 times. GOOD LUCK WITH THIS GEM AMONG MUSHROOMS!
