Cultivation is possible on beech (preferred!), oak, walnut, maple, and black locust. The Lion's Mane mushroom is a firm mushroom and the taste... some say nutty, while others recognize hints of crab or lobster. The strange appearance of this (almost) stemless mushroom looks like a cauliflower from a distance; upon closer inspection, the fruiting body is covered with spherical bundles of soft, hanging "spines". The Lion's Mane mushroom has been popular in China for thousands of years for consumption. They are prepared in various ways: stuffed and baked in the oven, finely chopped and raw in salads, or sliced into strips and fried. The mushroom is firm and keeps well for a long time (1 week in the refrigerator). UPON ARRIVAL OF THE PLUGS, STORE THEM IMMEDIATELY IN THE REFRIGERATOR TO KEEP THEM FRESH!
