ORGANICALLY GROWN.
From one of our collectors in Germany: beautiful white-skinned tubers, originally from Denmark! This variety yields a large harvest of fairly smooth, thick tubers. The buttery soft texture is remarkable and very tasty! An attractive addition, also particularly interesting for growers because the tubers grow close to the plant. Ensure sufficient moisture and mulch during dry periods to ensure steady growth and thus flawless tubers. PLEASE NOTE: PLANT TUBERS IMMEDIATELY UPON ARRIVAL. THEY HAVE LIMITED SHELF LIFE ABOVE GROUND!
Jerusalem artichoke is a very hardy vegetable that is winter-hardy. Plant the tubers at the edge of your vegetable garden. The plant can grow up to 2 m tall, use them as a windbreak but also be aware of their shading effect. Midway through the growing season, they can be pruned back for more compact growth and to prevent them from toppling over, though this will slightly reduce the harvest. In late autumn, you can harvest the tasty tubers, which are even good eaten raw. Planting distance 75 x 30 cm, requires 1.5 - 2 kg for 10 m². Tip: place a blanching pot over the plant in spring for tender, blanched first growth! Blanched, boiled, or finely chopped in a fresh spring salad, this vitamin-rich crop tastes both bitter and sweet. Add a pinch of salt during preparation to prevent the somewhat bitter taste.
WE DO OUR BEST TO MAINTAIN THE OPTIMAL QUALITY OF THE JERUSALEM ARTICHOKES. AS THEY ARRIVE IN DECEMBER, SOME TUBERS MAY DETERIORATE FROM MARCH ONWARDS. FIRST, PLACE THE TUBERS (IF NECESSARY) IN WATER, THEN CUT AWAY BAD PARTS AND PLANT THEM.
THE CONTENT OF 1 KG (AT FILLING) MAY DECREASE OVER TIME (UP TO 50-60%); AFTER SUBMERSION, THE TUBER WILL REGAIN A PORTION OF ITS ORIGINAL WEIGHT.
