-Potatoes 'Twinner'

  • Product number: 405660.1
  • Origin: South America
  • Latin: Solanum tuberosum

(2016) Ancestor: Rode Eersteling! Breeder: G.W. te Winkel.
A very robust variety, with high resistance to Phytophthora (= potato blight). You harvest very early relatively large, oval-round, smooth and yellow tubers with cream-yellow flesh. The potatoes are full of flavour and quite firm in texture. Twinner has a fast start, but does not like soil that is too cold; wait for a little more warmth and this sprinter will certainly reward you!

EARLY ORGANIC VARIETY FOR GOURMETS.
An early variety mainly means that it grows quickly and is therefore ready for early harvest. The planting time is actually at the same time as later varieties (April). However, to get an extra early harvest, these varieties are often planted earlier (mid-March with foil protection or even from January under glass). The early varieties are less susceptible to the dreaded potato blight (Phytophthora infestans). Although the epidemic occurs earlier and earlier: plant widely and fertilise with potash. Do not plant them in too wet a spot, but in good sunlight. The average planting distance is 70x40 cm, we advise to keep 80x40 cm to prevent diseases.
