ORGANICALLY GROWN POTATOES.
Parents: Laura x Coderas
This mid-late variety yields a high quantity of oval-round tubers with pinkish-red skin and creamy-yellow flesh. Its higher resistance to Phytophthora is important. Due to its slightly floury (fairly firm) texture, Alouette is suitable for boiling and baking. Its fresh and light taste is remarkable! Cultivation on sandy soil is also successful. Size: A 28/35.
ORGANICALLY GROWN SEED POTATOES.
MAIN CROP ORGANIC VARIETY.
Because the potato plant stores many absorbed substances in its tubers, it is important for the principled organic grower to have "clean" organic starting material. A main crop variety means it can be harvested from September. Early planting can advance harvest by several weeks. Planting time is from mid-April, when the soil has sufficient warmth. Pre-sprouting in light or in a large pot can be done earlier. Do not place them in a too wet spot, but well in the sun. Main crop varieties can be affected by the dreaded potato blight (Phytophthora infestans). Some preventive measures are: spacious planting, fertilizing with patentkali, do not spray water over the plant, and possibly organic spraying with sulfur or silinal. The average planting distance is 70x40 cm, we advise to maintain 80x40 cm to prevent diseases.
