(1953) Parents: Furore x Bato. Fluffy when cooked, a typical example of a very floury (mealy) potato. For clay and sand. Not very susceptible to late blight in the foliage, but beware: susceptible in the tuber. A beautiful, well-storable, red-skinned variety. Size 28/35 contains ± 100 tubers per 2.5 kg, yields 7 stems per 2 tubers and can be planted on 20 m².
MAIN CROP VARIETY.
A main crop variety means it can be harvested from September. Harvesting can be brought forward by several weeks by planting earlier. Planting time is from mid-April, when the soil has sufficient warmth. Pre-sprouting in the light or in a large pot can be done earlier. Do not place them in a too wet spot, but well in the sun. Main crop varieties can suffer from the dreaded potato blight (Phytophthora infestans). Some preventive measures are: spacious planting, fertilizing with patentkali, do not spray water over the plant and possibly spray biologically with sulfur or silinal. The average planting distance is 70x40 cm, we recommend maintaining 80x40 cm to prevent diseases.
