This red-skinned potato was a sensation when it came onto the market: such a yield and very long storage! It's logical that many enthusiasts still want to grow it, although its susceptibility to Phytophthora is high. Upon purchase, let it sprout immediately and plant it on time, with sufficient distance from each other and potassium fertilization... The tubers are a good size, fairly round with creamy-yellow flesh. They cook fairly firm and thus remain completely intact during cooking, only becoming slightly floury on the outside. A versatile potato, which is very suitable for boiling, baking, or frying. This potato owes its name to its origin: the Frisian municipality of Het Bildt. (Sometimes this variety is misspelled: Bildstar)

MEDIUM-EARLY VARIETY.
A medium-early variety means that it can be harvested from August. Harvesting a few weeks earlier is possible by planting earlier. The planting time is from mid-April, when the soil has sufficient warmth. Pre-sprouting in light or in a large pot can be done earlier. Do not place them in too wet a spot, but in full sun. The medium-early varieties can suffer from the dreaded potato blight (Phytophthora infestans). Some preventive measures are: spacious planting, fertilizing with patentkali, do not spray water on the plant, and possibly organic spraying with sulfur or silinal. The average planting distance is 70x40 cm, we recommend maintaining 80x40 cm to prevent diseases.
