(1985) Parents: Quarta x Semlo. Fairly early to mid-season harvestable. This versatile German variety yields a great crop of oval-round, shallow-eyed tubers. ORGANICALLY GROWN SEED POTATOES.
MID-EARLY ORGANIC VARIETY.
Because the potato plant stores many offered substances in its tubers, it is important for the principled organic grower to have "clean" organic starting material. An early variety primarily means that it grows quickly and is therefore harvestable early. The planting time is actually the same as later varieties (April). However, to get an extra early harvest, these varieties are often planted earlier (mid-March with protection from foil or even from January under glass). Early varieties are less susceptible to the dreaded potato blight (Phytophthora infestans). Although the epidemic occurs earlier and earlier: plant sparsely and fertilize with potash. Pre-sprouting in the light or in a large pot is allowed earlier. Do not place them in too wet a spot, but in full sun. The average planting distance is 70x40 cm, we recommend maintaining 80x40 cm to prevent diseases.
